Why I Design Using Squarespace: A Design Journey.

Selecting the right platform for your brand's website is no easy task. You have a myriad of options, and each comes with its own set of features and limitations. I began my website design journey with Squarespace in 2019, and my platform of choice has consistently stayed the same. Here's why.

My Journey with Squarespace

I started using Squarespace in 2019, and the platform has undergone substantial changes since then, moving from version 7.0 to 7.1 and most recently introducing the Fluid Design Engine. Each update has been a stride in the right direction, adding layers of functionality and flexibility that make it easier to design websites that truly embody the brand they represent.

Moreover, the platform's interface has always resonated with my personal philosophy of slow-living. Its clean, modern design, coupled with user-friendly functionality, provides a serene and calming work environment that truly makes it a joy to use.

Fluid Design Engine

The introduction of the Fluid Design Engine has taken customisation to a new level. This tool empowers you to build a website that perfectly mirrors your brand identity, all without writing a single line of code. You can move elements freely around the page, meaning you're not confined to rigid grid layouts. This freedom to experiment allows for genuine creativity, bringing you closer to the website of your dreams.

User-Friendly Interface

If you're not a tech whiz, Squarespace's user-friendly, drag-and-drop interface will be your new best friend. It streamlines the design process by enabling you to arrange page elements intuitively. This ease of use allows you to focus on what really matters—telling your brand's story in the most compelling way possible.

Integrated Services

Squarespace is more than just a website builder; it's a comprehensive platform that handles everything from web hosting and domain registration to analytics and SEO. This all-in-one approach eliminates the need to juggle multiple service providers, giving you more time to focus on your business.

SEO-Friendly

Good news for those concerned about website visibility: Squarespace has robust SEO tools built right into its platform. These tools guide you in optimising your site's content, from meta descriptions to header tags, so you can improve your search rankings without the need for additional plugins or software.

Newsletter Templates

Squarespace's newsletter templates are not just eye-catching; they are also exceedingly functional. Their ease of use means you don't need to spend hours wrestling with complicated software to create an effective email marketing campaign. The templates are easily customisable to fit your brand's aesthetics, making your newsletters a seamless extension of your website.

Most Importantly; Client Feedback: Easy Maintenance

One of the most satisfying moments in my line of work is the website handover. And you know what the usual first reaction is? Shocked delight. Yes, clients are often amazed at how straightforward it is to maintain their new website. It's crucial to me that my clients feel empowered to consistently amend and update their sites without needing to dive into complex coding or grapple with a confusing interface. Squarespace makes this spectacularly easy, living up to its reputation for being incredibly user-friendly.

Squarespace has a lot going for it, and its pros far outweigh the cons, especially for creatives who appreciate design flexibility, ease of use, and a one-stop solution for all their website needs.

Its synergy with my slow-living ethos makes it the ideal platform for me. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss your website needs or if you have any questions about Squarespace; I would love to hear from you.
